What happens during the first appointment?

Your first appointment is an assessment and strategy session. We’ll explore your health history, eating habits, lifestyle, and goals to understand your needs. Together, we’ll identify priorities and develop practical strategies that fit your life.

Do I need a referral from my healthcare provider?

Yes. A referral from your primary care provider (PCP) is mandatory for medical nutrition therapy at this practice, even if your insurance plan does not require one. California’s medical nutrition therapy referral requirement is separate from insurance requirements. Please obtain your PCP referral before your first appointment.

Your nutrition care

Will I need to follow a strict diet or give up my favorite foods?

My approach is weight-neutral, culturally inclusive, and focused on sustainable habits. We’ll work on realistic changes that support your health while making room for foods you enjoy.

Can we work with vegetarian or South Asian foods?

Yes. As a vegetarian dietitian specializing in South Asian nutrition, I help you balance traditional foods with practical, science-based strategies. Your cultural foods belong on your plate. You don’t need to be vegetarian or South Asian to work with me. I welcome clients from all cultural backgrounds and also support those who eat non-vegetarian foods and want to take a more plant-forward approach, with guidance tailored to your preferences and goals.
